１年生は明日からですが、２、３年生は本日から中間考査が始まりました。

　The second and third grade students began to take mid-term exams from today.

　創立記念行事として、毎年恒例のESD講演会が行われました。

　The annual event, ESD lecture meeting was held in the gym.

　本日は、やかげ学の立ち上げから環境ESD、YKG60などお世話になっている、室貴由輝先生をお招きして、非常に貴重なお話を拝聴することができました。

  Today Mr. Takayuki Muro, the contributor of establishing YAKAGE-study, the subject of Environment, YKG 60, and so on, came to our school and we could listen to his precious speech.

講演後の座談会でも活発な意見交換が行われました。

 After the meeting, we had small talk session.  Also, it was very exciting.

岡山県立矢掛高等学校は、明治三五年県内四番目の旧制中学校として開校された岡山県立矢掛中学校以来の伝統を受け継ぐ今年１１４年目を迎える歴史のある学校です。一世紀を越える長年の歩みの中で、二万人に及ぶ数多くの優れた卒業生を輩出し、郷土の社会経済文化の発展に多大な貢献をして参りました。

一方で、社会の情勢は日々変動し激動のときを迎えています。地球規模の環境破壊や、エネルギーや水などの資源保全が問題化されている現代では、人類が現在の生活レベルを維持しつつ、次世代も含む全ての人々により質の高い生活をもたらすことができる状態での開発を目指すことが重要な課題となっています。本校が取り組んでいるESDとは、「持続可能な開発のための教育（Education for Sustainable Development）」の頭文字を取ったものです。自らの考えを持って、新しい社会秩序を作り上げていく、地球的な視野を持つ市民を育成するための教育に期待が寄せられています。

本校におきましても、過疎化・少子化が進む中山間部で、学校自体が持続発展可能であることが喫緊の最重要課題となっています。学校の持続発展が矢掛町だけでなく、小田川流域地域の持続発展を担保するものであるからです。伝統に甘んじているだけでは持続発展はありません。常に状況を把握分析し、的確に判断し、戦略的に行動することが求められるのです。

2014年11月、岡山市でESD世界会議」が開かれました。これは2005年から世界中で取り組まれてきた「国連ESDの10年」の成果をまとめる会議で、世界中からESD関係者が岡山に集まり、その実践報告や今後の課題などについて話し合いました。矢掛高校もその中核メンバーとして多くの生徒が運営に関わりました。

地球的な視野を保って地域の活動に参加すること。あるいは地域の地道な活動を通して身につけた手法や能力をより広い状況の中で発揮できるようになること。それが矢掛高等学校の目指すESDなのです。

開校記念に当たり、矢掛高校ＥＳＤの礎を築いた、岡山市立後楽館高校の　室 貴由輝　先生をお招きし、講演会を企画しました。先生のお話を受け止め、それを参考にして、今後の自分自信の持続発展のために今何をすべきなのかしっかりと考えてください。

今年度２回目のやかげ学の日、総合コース３年生は元気に矢掛の町の大きな教室へ跳びだして行きました。２年生は座学。矢掛町について学んでいます。

昨年度後半、木曜日のたびに雨が降っていました。４月からいい天気でほっとしています。

　新年度が始まりました。桜の木の下でのショットです。

  7日から２，３年生はスタートですね。

　8日は入学式。新入生のみなさん、お待ちしています。

　２年A組が昨日、今日と勉強合宿を行いました。勉強時間は18時間。受験生の顔つきになっています。

　2A class students stayed in our school for two days and studied hard for 18 hours.　They are keen on studying!

来年桜咲くように健闘を祈る！桜咲け！！

 We hope they will make it on entrance exam of universities!  Be brave and get their happiness !!

 明日から新年度。引き続き、進化し続ける矢掛高校をよろしくお願いします。写真は今朝の矢掛高校の桜です。

　本日は入学予定者登校日でしたが、その前に「伸びる伸ばす矢高奨学金授与式」を行いました。卒業生4名に授与されました。

　さて、矢高に入学するみなさんが説明会と物品購入などを行いました。いろんな部が勧誘を行いました。写真は吹奏楽部です。

今日は、普通科に入学予定のみなさんが集まっての説明会です。

「キャー」「やったー！」という声が鳴り響いた、今日の合格発表。

“Woh! I’ve made it!” A lot of joyful voices were echoed here and there!  Today was the announcemet day of students who passed the entrance exam of Prefectural Senior High School.

みなさん、矢掛高校合格、本当におめでとう！一緒にがんばろう！！

　本日、２年生が今まで「やかげ学」で得たものについて中間発表を行いました。

　　Today the 2nd grade students did presentations about Yakage-gaku activity’s contents.

　総合的な学習の時間（CQ）発表会を行いました。発表者は1年B組、C組生徒です。

　CQ presentation competition was held in 1B and 1C.

 本日、明日と高校一般入試が実施されます。

　The entrance exam to enter some prefectural high school is being held today and tomorrow.

 Do your best,　boys and girls!!   Let’s learn together　at our town YAKAGE!!

　1年探究コースメンバーが発表を行いました。環境CQというのは本校の総合学習の通称です。

　The 1st grade students of academic course did presentations.  We call integrated studies Environmental Career Quest.

先日、英語検定の合格発表があり、多くの生徒が合格しました。

　The other day a lot of students passed Eiken tests.

さらに上の級を目指してがんばっていく雰囲気です。

 Everybody has more motivation to take higher grade test.

本日、標記の会が開催され、地域の方々も来られる中、すばらしい発表が続きました。

　Today the first YAKO Award competition was held in the afternoon with a lot of living people in Yakage area.

   We could listen to a lot of splendid presentations in Yakage Senior High students.

審査員は参加者全員。みんなでつくるYAKOアワードでした。

 All the participants did juges, and everybody took part in this competition actively.

前日の雨が残る中、女子はバレーボール、男子はサッカーを行いました。

　Although it was rainy yesterday, there were two ball sports in our school ball tournament: volleyball (females), soccer(males).

全力プレイの連続で、シャッターチャンスが多くありました。

 Lots of great play performances, so I took a lot of pictures, more than 300 hundred.

　優勝はバレーボールが１A、サッカーは１BC連合軍。１年生の活躍が光りました。

  1A in volleyball section, 1BC in soccer section won the championship.  In particular, 1st grade students did well.

2月28日、やかげこども連合（YKG60)の活動報告会が、本校フォレストで行われました。

　On February 28, the reporting meeting of YKG60 was held at Forest room, Yakage SHS.         

小学生から高校生までが自らのアイデアで活動する姿に心打たれました。熱心な働きかけ、当日報告してくださった井辻さんに感謝しております。

 We were very impressed with children’s own active attitudes and ideas.　Thank you for motivating them and reporting, Ms Itsuji.

 最後に町長や参加したこどもたちからの感想スピーチ を聞き、涙があふれました。

 Finally, the mayor of Yakage town and participants gave us comments, and we burst into tears.

 昨年５月に始まり、ここまで続いてきたYKG60の活動は、今週金曜日13:00から本校体育館で開催する「第１回YAKOアワード」でも発表、紹介されます。Don’t miss it!!

卒業証書授与式が晴天のもと、盛大に行われました。

Our gradution ceremony was held on March 2 very gloriously.  It was also sunny.

                       
送辞と答辞もびしっときまっていました。特に答辞は原稿をみず、真正面を向いての堂々たる姿に感動しました。

 Both sending speech and answering speech were so great.  Above all, we were very impressed with the attitude of the student who made an answering speech.  Because he was standing straight with no script.  
     
 蛍の光、校歌を高らかに歌い、感動のうちに終了。その後は各HRで最後のHRを行いました。

 We sang ”Hotaru- n0-Hikari” and School Song very loudly and were very touched.  After the ceremony, each HR teacher made a great speech and performance. 
        

卒業生の美しい涙と、晴れやかな表情が印象的な、素敵な１日でした。

ということで、予行と歌唱練習を行いました。

　We did rehearsal of Graduation Ceremony,  and practice of singing School Song and so on.

卒業式はMarch　2です。

みんなの最高の声が本番聴けるといいな。

 We wish we could hear everyone’s loud and heartwarming singing voice at real Graduation Ceremony.
