普通科・総合コース1年生の西 竜之介くんが、10月22日（土）・23日（日）に山口県で開かれる「中国高校新人水泳大会」に出場することが決定しました。参加種目は200m自由形。
矢掛高校では西くんの健闘を祈り、10月14日（金）全校生徒による壮行式を開催。
校長、生徒会から激励の言葉が贈られるとともに、西くんからも勝負への決意のほどが話されました。

矢高卒業生OB インドなど海外事情特別講座
矢高OBの西村貴友さん（平成25年度卒業生）が、インド、ロシア、台湾などでの留学体験をもとに、最新の海外事情を後輩達に伝える特別講座を開いてくださいました。
講座には国際交流に興味を持つ在校生約20名が参加。
現在インドに留学中の矢高OB高月裕太さん（平成25年度卒業生）とのスカイプ通信も交えながら、楽しくてためになるお話をしてくださいました。
こうしたOBとの気軽な交流も、矢掛高校の特徴の一つですね。
＊現在、西村さん、高月さんはともに島根県立大学・総合政策学部に通っています。

岡山ボランティアアワード
9月19日（月）
岡山県内の高校生ボランティアをお互いに発表しあう「岡山県高校生ボランティアアワード」が開かれました。
矢掛高校からは、地域で出来る国際交流活動を行っている「Y★can」と、障がいを持つ子と持たない子の交流をすすめている「YKGすみれ」の二団体が出場。
それぞれ、独自に展開される地域活動を発表し、会場からの大きな理解と共感を得ました。
審査の結果、今年度の大賞には「YKGすみれ」が！
今後の活躍に期待も膨らみます。
